Summer Must Haves A-Z- Part II
The second edition of Summer Must Haves has finally come around. Despite the title sounding a little S&M maybe? I still really like the choices and the pure fact that the summer just isn’t over yet. I am pretty sure the summer never really ends here in the Carolinas anyway, in Los Angeles for that matter.

Nudes

Steve Madden Nude Heels
A nude pump is the new black pump that can carry right into fall. The neutral tone goes with just about anything and is a fresh take on an old classic.
Oversized Tops
Usually oversized tops are reserved for those on the thinner side, but teamed up with skinny jeans and a tall heel the look balances out for any body type.
Pointed Toe
Pointed toes of the 80′s power woman are finally back with vengeance. They can elongate the leg even more when worn with the right pant and make a powerful weapon when needed.
Quirky
Quirky is the new hipster right? Anything that is a little out there or perhaps has a mustache on it or a classic print. Urban Outfitters or Mocloth can be the perfect place for the little something special and out of the box.
Runway
Project Runway is returning for yet another season! Even though it has been a couple of years since they were on Bravo the show is thriving on the slightly less viewed Oxygen channel. “Make it Work People!”
Sangria
What is summer without this iconic drink? A combination of two of my favorite things (wine and fruit). Click the image for an amazing recipe to make your own!
Turquoise
Turquoise has turned right back into a favorite color, as I move out of my coral obsession. Even if green isn’t quite your color just your nails can bring a pop of the shade to your look and will also transition right into the fall color schemes.
Umbrellas
One of the things I probably miss most about London is everyone bringing their umbrellas absolutely everywhere with them. Why not bring the trend over here! Probably not everyday but they are just so darn cute and practical.
Vertical Strips
Vertical stripes are known for their slimming effect, so thank goodness they have returned. The edgier print can liven up a girly dress and add some needed structure for a professional look.
Wearable
In the hot summer months your limits can be tested about the comfort level. Especially for outdoor bar-b-cues and weekend on the lake. Throwing on a slip dress can be an easy yet dressed up way to be ready for any summer event.
X-tra layers of Jewerly
Whether you layer up those friendship bracelets or neatly hang your matching necklaces those layers can add some major depth and style to any plain outfit.
Yves Saint Laurent
One of the big fashion moves over the summer was the drop of Yves from the Sain Laurent brand. Despite the hub-bub the drop in the name has had no real effect on the brand. Do you think it made a difference? Either way they still make gorgeous shoes and that’s all I’m concerned about.
Zippers
This Jeffrey Sebelia dress from Project Runway has always been one of my favorite pieces and was one of the first to really flaunt the often hidden part of a garment. This summer they can be found as hem concealers and even make up an entire handbag.

These beautiful photos by the bf, were taken in the in the Asian section of the Duke Gardens. I was on a mission to find the bamboo section and failed miserably, but found this awesome oreiental statue instead. A good portion of the clothing in this look is from Urban Outfitters. The favorite piece being my new mullet skirt (long in the back, short in the front). The skirt makes it easy to wear just about anywhere without the feeling it is too short.
