Pantone Spring Color Predictions- How To
You see the new colors come out for the season and wonder how to pull it off in your own wardrobe. Especially when one of those colors is called Tangerine Tango. How do you see orange and not see the 70′s summed up in a color?
“Consumers look to spring for renewed energy, optimism and the promise of a brighter day,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.
An easy solution to take advantage of this “seasons” colors without splurging on a new wardrobe is buying accessories. This can be a fun spring scarf or maybe a pair of bright earrings that complement your favorite spring top. The color of the necklace is bright enough that you can wear a neutral toned top and still look colorful. Places like Forever 21 and H&M are a great solution to invest in a bunch of jewelry for a low price. Plus most of it won’t make it to next season so it works out perfect.
Stores like the GAP have new lines of colorful jeans in just about every color possible. Even bright pink! The key is to keep the rest of the outfit neutral or with a complimentary color.
Wedding season is the perfect opportunity to purchase fun summery dresses that you will more than likely not wear again, or can save until next year for a different group of friends. It’s a time to be bold with color, as long as your not in white, you are good to go. My new daily obsession is the Tobi online clothing boutique (see example dress below). Everyday all their new clothing is 30% off. I need to unsubscribe from their daily e-mail blasts, but it hasn’t quite happened yet… Their stuff is also all over Pinterest. Everything they have is ridiculously cute and they are not in lack of summer wedding dresses.
Check out Harpers Bazaar’s Spring 2012 Fashion Report for inspiration from the runway of this seasons colors. Good luck and happy color hunting.
